Why this blog?
>>> It's all about the lost education and socialization our kids lost during the pandemic years... and how your child can catch up and even excel.
I am an educator by day and I sell family and kid's printable fun "stuff" at my Etsy Shop by night. Making these printable goodies have been a fun hobby up until now.
I have heard many news reports state that most of America's children of school age, are years behind where they should be. I have seen our own district numbers recently and it is all true. Reading, Writing, Spelling, Math, Science in America are so low, that near 3rd world countries are doing better. Wow! As an educator who really cares, I had to start this, my first blog ever.
Their Future, Is Now!
I work in special education for the most part, so I have a lot of experience in helping students to catch up to their grade level. I felt the need to share many of my tips and seasoned information with parents so that they, you, can help your child catch up. Maybe, if all goes super well, your child can catch up and then, surpass his or her peers and actually get ahead educationally and socially.
I am ready to go on an adventure with you here. Even though I am at the moment writing to myself and figuring out this blog world, I hope that you and I can reach as many parents as possible to join in and make our nation's children as bright again! Of course, I would love to see our nation's kids learning, but also having as much fun as they can at the same time. I hope that they will also catch the bug of the "love of learning" and we can do this with some degree of speed.
(By the way, The photos and forms and such that I use here for a breakup of too much text, are clickable and can be saved. When you click one you enjoy, it will appear in real size, most with PNG quality and clear backgrounds. They are mine, they could be yours too in seconds! Printable stickers, forms kids love, educational games and toys and printable fun stuff. You are welcome to them as my thank you for stopping in.)
My plan is to create a place where we can talk about catching up on...
> Educational Setbacks > Emotional and Social Setbacks > issues you would like to talk about. And we can do this togetgher. That's why I am speaking, (or typing) in a team-work tone and friend's voice. Let's see how this works.
I am nearly finished with my first of a series of special assessment for children. Not long, drawn out tests, but quick assessments for you to do at home with your child. They are specifically designed to determine where your child stands and if they have learned all that their age group or grade level has set in expectations. When completed, this assessments will let you know about what grade level your child is in for:
> Spelling > Reading > Comprehension > Writing > Math basics.
I am beginning with spelling because it is probably the most simple,That way, you can become familiar with the assessment, see the ease and accuracy and feel comfortable moving on to others that you would like to use. It will help you know what subjects to work on and what can wait until a bit later.
In the meantime, I am writing a series of articles that will begin the process of catching up and excelling in your child's education. I have basics and learned tricks and tips, and mostly, fun and entertaining activities for your child. I hope you enjoy this blog, be patient while I work on all of it, and mostly, ask questions and give others your own tips and trick. So feel free to comment, (And hope I can figure out all the logistics), When you write, I will get back to you after the school day is over and all day for the most part on weekends.Deal?
